The Senior Networks and Engagement Manager – Regions and YEN will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and guidance to the CIBSE UK and International regions and YEN network, ensuring there is a focus on membership acquisition, retention and member engagement. The role requires an individual with a passion for working with volunteers coupled with excellent organisational skills. They will also need to demonstrate a high level of line management skills, attention to details, customer service focus and an ability to solve complex problems. Reporting to the Head of Networks and Engagement, this role has one direct report in the Networks and Engagement Coordinator, Groups. The role is part of a small and hard-working team focusing on supporting our volunteers across the networks to deliver member growth, retention and engagement.

What you will do

  • Provide day to day support for the UK and International regions, ensuring governance is adhered to as required.
  • Attend regional meetings/events as required – the ability to travel and work out of office hours is an important aspect of the role.
  • Work with the YEN Global committee to ensure the YEN network is working effectively and collaborating throughout CIBSE.
  • Lead on the review for the UK regions ensuring that the geographical set up is fit for purpose and appropriate for modern day geography.
  • Lead on the annual finance and activity planning process for the UK and International regions, YEN and special interest groups.
  • Take ownership for the oversight of the STEM ambassador programme ensuring activity continues to progress.
  • Build positive working relationships with key people across the organisation including, senior volunteers, board members and colleagues.
  • Provide excellent and effective line management and development direction to the Networks and Engagement Coordinator – Groups and the Engagement and Operations Manager – MENA Region.
  • Work with the Membership Marketing team over required marketing and campaigns.
  • Provide support to the Head of Networks and Engagement with the delivery of key strategic projects, taking a lead as required.
  • Provide support to the Head of Networks and Engagement and the Senior Networks and Engagement Manager – Societies with the development of the volunteer infrastructure.
  • Lead on the governance update for the YEN Global committee and YEN network.
  • Take a lead on planning and implementation of awards and projects as required.
  • Implement a review of the structure and purpose of the Fellows network to ensure effective future implementation.

What you will need to be successful

Essential

  • Three years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Relationship building – proven ability to build relationships based on trust, understanding, and mutual respect.
  • Relationship management - proven ability to maintain key relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Volunteer management - experience of working closely with volunteers and how volunteer programmes operate.
  • A mixture of operational and strategic experience.
  • Determination and persistence.
  • Ability to travel across the UK and work out of hours at events.
  • Communication skills - good verbal and written skills with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Detail orientated - ability to be organised and have a strong attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Extensive use of a CRM system (preferably Salesforce).
  • Experience of working in a professional membership organisation.
