The Opportunity

Trevett Services are recruiting for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a national engineering team delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial and retail properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong air conditioning and HVAC experience to join a growing business that invests in its people, provides ongoing training and offers genuine long–term career progression.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring HVAC systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational whilst delivering a first–class service to clients across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned & Reactive Maintenance
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of HVAC equipment.
  • Service, maintain and repair: Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), VRV / VRF Systems, Split Systems, Chillers.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across HVAC plant.
  • Complete repairs efficiently whilst maintaining high first–time fix rates.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all work complies with current legislation, SFG20 maintenance standards and company procedures.
  • Complete service reports and maintenance documentation using CAFM systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed works and compliance documentation.
  • Remedial Works
  • Identify remedial works during maintenance visits.
  • Provide clear technical reports and recommendations.
  • Escalate plant issues where further works are required.
  • Asset & Equipment Management
  • Maintain company van stock, tools and testing equipment.
  • Ensure all company equipment is maintained and stored correctly.
  • Participate in the on–call rota when required.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, HVAC or equivalent
  • F–Gas Category 1
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proven experience maintaining commercial HVAC systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault–finding skills.
  • Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience working to SFG20 planned maintenance schedules.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • ACRIB Gold Skills Card
  • Electrical qualifications or electrical maintenance knowledge
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) experience
  • Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) experience
  • Experience maintaining larger commercial or critical plant including: Chillers, Large Air Handling Units, Critical HVAC systems
  • Five years' experience within a similar commercial HVAC role.
