North20 Recruitment is supporting a leading international consultancy delivering major data centre and mission–critical infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint two experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineers to provide technical leadership across complex data centre developments and critical power infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineering professional to work on large–scale projects whilst acting as a key technical authority across design reviews, electrical systems integration and engineering governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve electrical design packages, technical submissions and single–line diagrams.
- Act as a subject matter expert for MV/LV power distribution systems.
- Provide technical leadership across UPS, STS, switchgear and standby power systems.
- Support consultants, contractors and equipment manufacturers throughout project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with BS7671, IEC standards and industry best practice.
- Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the design process.
- Drive quality, reliability and operational performance across critical infrastructure projects.
- Support the successful delivery of large–scale data centre developments.
- Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience working within Data Centres, Critical Power, Mission Critical Infrastructure or similar complex engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of MV/LV electrical distribution systems.
- Experience with UPS systems, STS, switchgear and emergency power infrastructure.
- Ability to review and challenge electrical designs, technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of BS7671, IEC and European electrical standards.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
