An established and highly respected Building Services consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer to join its growing Hampshire–based team. The consultancy delivers mechanical and electrical design solutions across a broad range of sectors including commercial, industrial, education, government, leisure and high–end residential developments. Their portfolio includes manufacturing facilities, critical infrastructure projects, marinas, sports and leisure facilities, public sector buildings and bespoke developments, providing engineers with exposure to a diverse and technically challenging workload.

The Role
As a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from initial concept through to completion. Working closely with clients, architects, contractors and fellow engineers, you will lead electrical design activities while supporting junior team members and contributing to the continued success of the business. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, build client relationships and work across a varied portfolio of schemes throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects through all RIBA stages
- Produce electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, photovoltaic systems and EV charging infrastructure
- Prepare technical specifications, design calculations, reports and contract documentation
- Attend client meetings, design team meetings and site visits
- Coordinate designs with mechanical engineers, architects and external consultants
- Support tender processes, contractor reviews and technical evaluations
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations, industry standards and sustainability requirements
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to project success
Requirements
- Experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment or relevant transferable electrical design experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical building services design principles
- Experience designing power, lighting, fire alarm, PV and EV charging systems
- Good understanding of current IET Wiring Regulations and Building Regulations
- Knowledge of sustainable building design and BREEAM requirements
- Experience using Trimble ProDesign (Amtech), Dialux and/or Relux
- Revit experience would be advantageous
- Strong communication and client–facing skills
- Ability to manage workload independently and take ownership of projects
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
