The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Product Support Engineer – HVAC to join an established team working across the UK rail industry. This is a hands–on role focused on the maintenance, fault finding, servicing and repair of HVAC systems across a range of rolling stock. You will work on a variety of rail vehicles and projects, including Class 158s, Class 174s, Mark 4s and other rolling stock. The role involves extensive UK–wide travel, with a significant amount of lodging away from home. The standard working week is 40 hours, with excellent opportunities for overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on rolling stock HVAC systems
  • Fault finding and diagnosing HVAC issues
  • Servicing, repairing and replacing HVAC components
  • Carrying out modifications and maintenance work on rail vehicles
  • Working safely and efficiently at customer sites across the UK
  • Completing maintenance documentation and reports
  • Supporting a variety of rolling stock projects

About You

We are looking for an experienced HVAC Engineer with previous hands–on experience working with HVAC systems.

Essential

  • Previous HVAC engineering experience
  • Strong fault–finding and maintenance skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Previous rolling stock experience
  • Level 3 qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience working on rail HVAC systems
  • Experience with train air conditioning and heating systems
  • Previous maintenance experience within a transport, rail or heavy engineering environment
