A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing building services team.

Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking to work on technically challenging projects across sectors? This would include healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and public sector developments.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the mechanical engineering design delivery on selected projects
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Manage mechanical design elements from concept through to completion
  • Produce technical drawings, specifications and design documentation
  • Carry out engineering calculations and support technical reviews
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to presentations
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
  • Maintain and improve technical standards within the engineering team
  • Contribute to innovative, sustainable and low–carbon engineering solutions

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3–4 years' post–qualification experience within building services design
  • Strong experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions within a consultancy environment
  • Knowledge of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance
  • Experience using design software such as:
    • oRevit
    • oRelux / Dialux
    • oAmtech or equivalent engineering software
  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and renewable technologies
  • Experience working with BREEAM requirements would be advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical building services design

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
  • CIBSE / IMechE membership
  • Experience working on complex projects across multiple sectors
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
  • Understanding of electrical engineering principles would be beneficial
