The Role
As a Building Services Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across critical building services, ensuring maximum uptime and customer satisfaction. The role sits within the clients Critical & Technical Services function and offers clear development pathways, including progression to Authorised Person (AP) status. You will be working alongside a Supervisor, two shift electricians, one fabric engineer, and one day engineer, operating as part of a close-knit and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Building Services Engineer supporting day-to-day critical M&E operations
- Qualify as an Authorised Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding
- Complete Critical Services PPMs and condition assessments on plant and equipment
- Maintain accurate records of completed and outstanding works using in-house systems
- Ensure compliance with all company, client, health, safety, and security procedures
- Communicate effectively with the client and management team
- Participate in ongoing critical services training programmes
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Building Services Engineer within building services or facilities management
- City & Guilds or HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical services
- Knowledge of business-critical systems (UPS, generators, comms rooms)
- Ability to operate BMS systems
