What You’ll Be Doing
- The Capital Markets arm of CIBC serves corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions and value-added services.
- As a member of the STIR Trading team, you will focus on market making STIR products for the European session.
- Market making STIR products in G10 currencies for the electronic and voice business.
- Demonstrate good risk management skills for the full range of STIR products.
- Work within a global team that manages STIR risks for the bank 24 hours a day, 5.5 days a week.
- Provide daily and on-demand market colour for internal and external stakeholders regarding overall market sentiment, liquidity conditions and macroeconomic views.
- Work productively with the global sales team to help build the existing franchise which includes real money accounts, pension funds, government institutions, corporate clients and hedge funds.
- Manage the firm’s risk and exposure in the most efficient and optimal way including working with the eFX business and colleagues in other centres and job functions.
- Run, report and review daily P&L reports.
- Ensure adherence to the firm risk limits, compliance and regulatory requirements.
Who You Are
- Up to 3 years’ experience in risk taking and market making or related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk and monetize franchise value.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the implications of global macroeconomics and geopolitics as it pertains to FX and financial markets.
- Undergraduate/graduate degree in Mathematics, Finance, Technology, Engineering.
- Very proficient in the use of advanced functions in Excel, VBA.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Genuine interest in global financial markets.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work under one’s own initiative.
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg.
- Proven ability to excel in fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
