Job Type: Fixed term for 12 months with possible extension. Currently hybrid, remote and office based, full time.

A busy, pro-active Professional Institute within the Built Environment seeks a Network & Engagement Coordinator.
The Network & Engagement Coordinator is responsible to the Business Support & Events Executive, and works across other Departments as appropriate. They work closely with the Institute’s membership at a local level, being the primary link between them and the Central Office.
The Network & Engagement Coordinator provides support, guidance and coordination for local events, professional development opportunities and networking activities, ensuring the membership fully engages with the Institute and actively participates in local, national and international activity relating to Architectural Technology (AT) and the wider built environment.
The main duties include the following:
- Work with the membership at a local level to provide tailored guidance, and to support the growth of local networks and communities, in line with CIAT’s strategic plan, policies and values.
- Support the planning and execution of local events, networking sessions and conferences, fostering engagement and knowledge-sharing within the AT community and the wider built environment.
- Act as a bridge between the membership, academic institutions and the wider built environment community, fostering collaboration, discussion and participation in local and national initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, such as schools, universities, local governments, industry groups and so on to boost the Institute's influence, and identify collaborative and commercial opportunities where appropriate.
- Develop and facilitate networks between external stakeholders and the local membership, encouraging greater recognition and opportunities for the profession.
- Work closely with the Institute’s Education Department to expand, promote and where possible, centralise the CPD Register, ensuring members and affiliates have access to high-quality professional development opportunities.
- Work closely with the Institute’s Membership Department to identify opportunities to support membership growth and CIAT visibility through Region, Centre, aspiration and Affiliate Group Body Corporate (AGBC) networks.
- Work with the Institute’s Creative & Communications Department to identify ways to promote the AT Awards more widely.
- Represent the AT community externally to enhance its profile and ensure the Institute's voice is influential.
- Proactively identify, develop and secure sponsorship opportunities with a range of organisations, including corporate sponsors, industry bodies, local businesses and educational establishments.
- Cultivate strong relationships with potential sponsors to support a variety of events, from local networking sessions to large-scale conferences, CPD workshops and so on.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
- Assist in training colleagues and managing staff as appropriate.
- Work with relevant Departments to manage the annual budget.
- Respond to queries as they relate to this role.
- Contribute to a positive environment to work in.
- Carry out any other duties as required.
Advanced IT skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel and databases are essential.
The Network & Engagement Coordinator is required to ensure they maintain a manual which details their protocols as they apply to their role and responsibilities.
The Network & Engagement Coordinator is required to travel to out-of-office meetings and events as necessary, which may involve overnight stays at the Institute’s expense. The Institute has a policy in place for time off in lieu for working “out of hours”.
CIAT offers the following benefits:
- 20 days annual leave (pro rata for part time or fixed term positions) plus bank holidays, with additional days for Easter and Christmas week. Leave allocation increases by one day per year up to 25 days (pro rata for part time or fixed term positions).

The Network & Engagement Coordinator may be required to travel to out-of-office meetings as directed which might involve overnight stays at the Institute’s expense. The Institute has a policy in place for time off in lieu of working “out of hours”.
