CI Projects is a boutique business consultancy committed to helping businesses continuously improve by enabling the true convergence of people, processes, and technology. We work closely with clients to define the issue, the destination, and how to get there – and then provide the tools and confidence so they can keep improving long after we’ve gone.
We’re looking for a strategic, commercially minded Business Improvement & Partnerships Director to lead high-impact transformation programmes, strengthen our consultancy capability, and drive strategic partnerships that expand CI Projects’ presence and impact. If you’re an experienced senior leader with a strong foundation in continuous improvement, client engagement, operational excellence, and strategic collaboration, this role is for you.
Role Overview
This is a senior, client-facing leadership role responsible for driving CI Projects’ business improvement agenda, shaping and delivering complex transformation programmes, and developing strategic partnerships that enhance value for our clients and support the growth of our consultancy.
As Business Improvement & Partnerships Director, you will work closely with executive stakeholders, both internally and within client organisations, to identify improvement opportunities, establish transformation roadmaps, and ensure high-quality delivery across programmes. You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor consultants, and act as a trusted advisor to senior client leaders.
You will also spearhead CI Projects’ partnerships strategy, developing and nurturing external relationships (technology vendors, delivery partners, sector networks) that complement our services and enable clients to access innovative, future-ready solutions. This role is ideal for a seasoned transformation leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery experience, and who enjoys operating at board level while keeping a firm grip on operational excellence.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading large-scale improvement and transformation programmes, ensuring clear scope, robust governance, and measurable outcomes for clients.
- Designing and delivering business improvement strategies across processes, people, and technology to drive performance, efficiency, and service excellence.
- Acting as an executive-level advisor, supporting boards, directors, and senior leaders to define priorities, shape strategic direction, and embed change.
- Developing and managing strategic partnerships that strengthen CI Projects’ delivery capability, value proposition, and market presence.
- Overseeing consultancy delivery teams, providing leadership, coaching, and quality assurance across projects and client engagements.
- Expanding CI Projects’ service offerings through insight-driven recommendations, innovation, and continuous improvement of our methodologies.
- Building trusted client relationships, contributing to business development opportunities, and supporting bid, proposal, and commercial activities.
What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience leading complex transformation, operational improvement, or organisational change programmes at a senior or director level.
- Strong consulting background with proven ability to influence and collaborate with C-suite and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker able to translate organisational challenges into clear improvement roadmaps and operational solutions.
- Demonstrable experience shaping and managing partnerships (technology, service delivery, or strategic alliances).
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and performance optimisation.
- A proactive, commercially aware mindset with the ability to drive value, shape strategy, and deliver high-impact outcomes.
- Passion for helping organisations achieve better ways of working through people, process, and technology convergence.
