Contract: Permanent

Employer: Churchward School

We are seeking to appoint a Pastoral Interventions Practitioner who is passionate and able to make a positive contribution to the learning experiences of our students.

Are you an experienced SEND practitioner or would like to make the transition into a different sector of education?

Do you want to make a genuine difference to outcomes and future life chances of young people?

Do you value making a positive impact on the mental health and wellbeing of students as well as their academic progress?

Churchward School is an innovative special school in Swindon supporting students with social, communication and interaction difficulties to find their place in the world. We provide exceptional outcomes for students through a combination of emotional regulation, social interaction, and academic progress, giving our students the tools they need to take the next steps in life, whatever they might be. We offer an opportunity for students to integrate in a mainstream environment whilst supported by specialist staff to develop independence and employability skills as well as continue their academic progress. This will provide the missing link between school and further education for young people with an EHCP not ready to fully transition.

Churchward School is proud to be part of Brunel Academies Trust - a growing educational community with no barriers, only potential. We strive to significantly improve the life chances and outcomes for our CYP within our SEND, CofE, and mainstream EPs.

What it's like to work at Churchward:

"Coming from different settings, I have never felt as supported or valued as a teacher as I do at Churchward. I love working with the staff and students and enjoy coming to work every day. Each day is different, and I like the variety that brings."

"I enjoy working at Churchward School because I like to feel that I and my work colleagues are making a difference to the lives of our students. These are students that now have a place to thrive and mix with others who are in some ways like them, they have a sense of belonging and acceptance. No student is the same but all have the same from staff and that is a caring family."

"Seeing smiling faces, laughs and enjoyment of being at school is a great achievement for the majority of our students. Knowing that we as staff will try our hardest to give them the best education and support to achieve their goals, aspirations and a way to cope in the wider world. It's a great pleasure to work at Churchward and to call this my family."
