We are looking for experienced Waiters and Waitresses who genuinely enjoy looking after customers and creating a warm, welcoming restaurant experience. You will be one of the main faces of the business, providing attentive, professional table service and making sure every customer feels valued from the moment they arrive until they leave.
This is a hands-on front-of-house role for people who are confident serving customers in a busy restaurant environment. You will take orders accurately, serve food and drinks efficiently, maintain excellent presentation and cleanliness standards, and work closely with the kitchen and wider restaurant team to deliver consistently high standards of service. Previous waiting experience and a strong track record of excellent customer service are essential for this role.
We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available. Shifts will include a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend working, depending on business needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide warm, friendly and attentive service to every customer, ensuring they receive an excellent experience throughout their visit.
- Welcome and seat customers promptly, provide menus and explain specials, promotions or relevant menu information.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and confidently, checking dietary requirements or allergen information and following company procedures.
- Develop strong knowledge of the menu so you can answer questions, make suitable recommendations and confidently upsell where appropriate.
- Work closely with the kitchen and front of house team to ensure orders are communicated clearly and service runs smoothly
- Remain calm, organised and professional during busy service periods, managing several tables effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Process bills, card and cash payments accurately and responsibly.
Skills & Attributes:
- Substantial previous experience as a Waiter / Waitress or in a similar customer facing restaurant or hospitality role
- A proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and build a positive rapport with customers
- Confident communication skills, a friendly and professional manner, and the ability to anticipate customer needs.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple tables and maintain attention to detail during busy service periods.
- A positive, hands on team attitude, with reliability, flexibility and a willingness to support colleagues.

At Churchill’s, our journey began way back in the early 1920s when Great Grandpa Harold, and wife Dorothy painstakingly saved all the money he earned from mining and playing amateur cricket for Accrington and moved from the north to Essex to buy their first ever fish and chip shop in in Romford, in 1923.
