Job Description

Based across Portsmouth\\n\\n£30,000 – £35,000 per annum\\n\\nSupporting excellence, teamwork, and service delivery.\\n\\nAre you a people-focused leader who takes pride in high standards, teamwork, and getting the best out of others? We’re looking for an Cleaning Assistant Manager to help us deliver outstanding cleaning services that consistently meet client expectations, service level agreements, and company standards.\\n\\nIn this role, you’ll work closely with the Cleaning Account Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across our Portsmouth Contract and ad-hoc projects. You’ll play a key part in developing a high-performing region through effective team management, quality service delivery, and a focus on continuous improvement.\\n\\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values collaboration, and takes ownership of results.\\n\\nAs Cleaning Assistant Manager, you’ll be:\\n\\n * Support the Cleaning Account Manager with audits, training, projects, and day-to-day operations.\\n\\n * Ensure cleaning standards, staffing levels, and service delivery targets are consistently achieved across all contract sites.\\n\\n * Accurately manage payroll data, including hours worked, new starters, leavers, and pay adjustments.\\n\\n * Train, coach, and support site teams in Health & Safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring full compliance with company policies.\\n\\n * Conduct regular site visits and quality inspections, maintaining excellent communication with clients and internal teams.\\n\\n * Oversee stock ordering, budget control, and cost efficiency across contract sites.\\n\\n * Lead recruitment, onboarding, and staff record management in partnership with HR and Payroll.\\n\\n * Champion a safe working environment by adhering to Health & Safety and safeguarding policies, promptly addressing any issues.\\n\\nAs Cleaning Assistant Manager, you’ll bring:\\n\\n * Proven experience delivering exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships.\\n\\n * Excellent communication skills — confident, clear, and professional at all levels.\\n\\n * Highly organised with strong time management and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment.\\n\\n * A natural leader who can motivate, train, and support teams to achieve their best.\\n\\n * Proactive, flexible, and solution-focused, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.\\n\\n * Good understanding of Health & Safety practices within the cleaning industry.\\n\\n * Competent in MS Office and comfortable handling cleaning equipment; willing to travel and work flexible hours.\\n\\n * A commitment to learning and professional growth, ideally with prior supervisory experience.\\n\\nWhat we offer you\\n\\nThe opportunity to be part of one of the fastest-growing specialist FM providers in the UK.
