Please find below the job description for the Tax Investigation Director position:

  • Ideally, 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Must be able to independently manage HMRC investigations and enquiries relating to VAT, Income Tax, Corporation Tax, and PAYE
  • Solid experience of dealing with Code of Practice 8 and Code of Practice 9 investigations (tax fraud investigations)
  • Experience handling appeals in the Tax Tribunal, representing clients at the Tribunal and in ADR
  • Proven ability to negotiate with HMRC to reduce clients’ tax liabilities
  • A strong track record of defending clients in complex investigations
  • Confident communicator, both in writing and in person, including direct correspondence with HMRC and client meetings
  • Preferably ACCA / ACA / CTA qualified or a former HMRC Inspector
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary is entirely dependent on the individual. There is no upper limit, and the emphasis is on securing the right candidate.
