Please find below the job description for the Tax Investigation Director position:
- Ideally, 7+ years of relevant experience
- Must be able to independently manage HMRC investigations and enquiries relating to VAT, Income Tax, Corporation Tax, and PAYE
- Solid experience of dealing with Code of Practice 8 and Code of Practice 9 investigations (tax fraud investigations)
- Experience handling appeals in the Tax Tribunal, representing clients at the Tribunal and in ADR
- Proven ability to negotiate with HMRC to reduce clients’ tax liabilities
- A strong track record of defending clients in complex investigations
- Confident communicator, both in writing and in person, including direct correspondence with HMRC and client meetings
- Preferably ACCA / ACA / CTA qualified or a former HMRC Inspector
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
