About the role
We’re recruiting an experienced Associate Planning Director to join our proactive, dynamic, and success driven internal planning consultancy based in our Head Office in Ringwood.
You’ll be joining a strong team who work closely with our 5 regional offices and are a pivotal part of our national growth drive strategies. Your key responsibilities will include :
- Assessing new sites for development potential and checking planning constraints with local authorities and providing reports to land teams.
- Liaising with Design to ensure the best approach is delivered for each scheme.
- Attending initial planning meetings.
- Preparing planning applications, including research and submission.
- Monitoring planning applications, proactively answering any questions and queries.
- Coordinating, preparing, and submitting applications for discharge of conditions.
- Supporting the business to manage any appeals. Including attending the hearing.
Our Associate Planning Director will have a real influence on the success of our planning applications and schemes. Ultimately, you’ll get to see your efforts rewarded with successful planning applications and customers who love their independent, safe and secure retirement home – knowing you’ve had a part to play in this.
Hours of work are 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Fridays with one hour for lunch.
About you
Our new Associate Planning Director will have a thorough understanding of Planning Policies, procedures and law, with a PQE in public or private practice. We’d love it if you had knowledge of affordable housing policies and law. You must be a member of MRTPI, and ideally have a Degree / Diploma in Town Planning.
In addition, you will have proven negotiation, communication and influencing skills, as you’ll be liaising with a wide range of external contacts to resolve issues.
You’ll enjoy managing your own case load, whilst also working as part of a close knit team. Who provide support, advice, and guidance to one another, ensuring the most positive outcomes.
