We are seeking a visionary and technically expert leader to head up the Commercial & Hospitality Division. Operating from a modern regional office in Brentwood, you will mentor a team of Contract Managers and take full responsibility for a diverse portfolio. Your remit will cover everything from ground-up New Build construction to high-complexity Cut & Carve refurbishments and technical Fit-Out projects.
The Client: Our client is a highly established Tier 1 specialist with a stellar reputation for delivering complex, high-specification schemes. They foster a collaborative and high-energy office culture, seeking a senior leader who can provide decisive direction while maintaining project quality and safety.
The Role: Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will have total operational authority over your division. We require a professional who masters the entire construction lifecycle—from the initial groundworks and structural frames through to high-spec internal delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender & Bid Strategy: Provide expert input into bid strategies, logistics planning, and construction methodologies to secure high-value projects.
- Pre-Construction Leadership: Manage the handover from estimating to operations, finalize master programmes, and oversee procurement and site team selection.
- Construction Operations: Manage a team of Contract Managers, monitor P&L performance, and troubleshoot technical issues on-site.
- H&S and Compliance: Lead a culture of safety excellence, ensuring all projects adhere to rigorous HSE regulations and RAMS.
- Project Handover: Drive teams to achieve snag-free completions and ensure client satisfaction to secure repeat business.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven track record as a Head of Construction or Operations Manager with a dual background in New Build and Refurbishment.
- Technical Breadth: Deep understanding of ground-up build processes as well as the fast-paced nature of interior fit-out.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong financial management skills and experience overseeing multiple senior managers.
- Location: Must be based within a commutable distance of Brentwood and the M25 corridor.
