This role is specifically designed for a tradesperson with extensive experience in civil engineering and residential masonry, with a particular focus on retaining walls. We are looking for a "craft-first" professional who is confident in building from the ground up and can deliver high-quality structural work that meets precise engineering tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Structural Construction: Lead the setting out and construction of heavy-duty retaining walls, ensuring they are built to withstand specific soil and water pressures.
- Technical Application: Interpret architectural and structural engineering plans to ensure all dimensions and levels are accurate.
- Material Management: Work with a variety of masonry materials including common bricks, engineering bricks, and concrete blocks.
- Mortar & Alignment: Utilize spirit levels and plumb lines to maintain perfect horizontal and vertical alignment.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all site-specific RAMS and HSE regulations.
Requirements
- Specialist Experience: Proven track record in constructing retaining walls and other structural masonry (Foundations, Face Walls).
- Certifications: Must hold a valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker or Gold Advanced Craft preferred).
- Site Qualifications: Valid SMSTS or SSSTS is a plus but not essential for this trade role.
- Technical Skills: Expert ability to read site drawings and blueprints for complex structural projects.
