The Opportunity: We are seeking a site-savvy Senior QS to lead projects ranging from £3m to £7m across the Sussex region. This is a dual site and office-based position, perfect for a professional who enjoys being close to the build while maintaining high-level commercial control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management: Full responsibility for CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) and monthly reporting.
- Procurement: Leading the procurement of sub-contractor packages with internal support.
- Valuations & Variations: Managing interim valuations and accurately pricing variations to ensure project profitability.
- Measurement: Carrying out detailed measuring and taking off from drawings.
- Systems: Utilizing the Causeway estimating system to manage project costs (experience with Causeway is a significant advantage).
- Final Accounts: Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with both clients and subcontractors.
The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a grounded, technically minded professional who has grown up on-site and understands the realities of a live construction environment.
- Experience: 7-10 years of experience running projects on-site for a Main Contractor.
- Stability: A proven track record of seeing projects through from inception to completion.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of measurement, taking off, and contract law.
