Churchill Estates Management (CEM) is a leading property management company specialising in independent retirement living. We are now seeking an experienced Field Service Manager to join our Property Services team and play a key role in ensuring our portfolio remains safe, compliant, and well-maintained.
About the role:
As Field Service Manager, you will oversee the delivery of planned and reactive Major Works across our developments, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards. This could include managing works such as Fire Safety upgrades, Warden Call System upgrades, asset replacement, building improvements, and all manner of Section 20 Qualifying Works projects. You will work closely with subcontractors, Building Surveyors, Project teams, and Operational colleagues to ensure compliance, minimise disruption, and maintain quality throughout the development lifecycle.
The main responsibilities of the Field Service Manager are:
- Manage contractor attendance, performance and quality for all Major Works projects, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Proactively review and manage external contractors and suppliers, acting on feedback from customers and colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with operational teams and stakeholders during works, minimising disruption and maintaining transparency.
- Monitor and report on project success and lessons learned, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Review and authorise invoices and payments for suppliers and subcontractors, challenging discrepancies or poor performance where necessary.
- Collaborate with Building Surveyors and the wider Property Services team to deliver the right solutions for our developments and our customers.
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 09:00 to 17:30 and Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.
About you:
Our new Field Service Manager will demonstrate proven experience in a similar role, or strong knowledge of facilities management/site management environments, ideally within residential developments. Hands-on experience overseeing major works and remedial projects is essential, and it is desirable for your experience to have included fire safety, building improvements, and asset replacement. You will be educated to GCSE level C/5 in Maths and English, with good IT skills in MS Office, and the ability to embrace new technologies. Your personal attributes will show that you are highly self-motivated with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, working to deadlines and remaining calm under pressure. You will also have strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ideally, you will be located within easy reach of Dorset and Hampshire. A valid UK driving licence is essential to carry out this role.
