Role description: To take a lead role in the surveying, specifying, costing and delivery of water treatment and other plumbing and technical installations and remedial works. You will assist in the direct delivery of specified one-off project work received from CES sales team, in order to ensure all works are completed satisfactorily and within the agreed specification, and that profitability is achieved. You will also assist in the training of field-based engineers as well as supporting the UK Technical Manager with technical advice and support as required.
Key responsibilities:
- To carry out water hygiene plumbing and remedial work, in line with company procedures and method statements, to include the following: Pressurisation units & hot water calorifier inspections, servicing & maintenance
- Cold water storage tank inspections, relining and replacements.
- Water treatment inspections, installations, servicing and maintenance.
- Closed loop & chilled system inspections, servicing and maintenance.
- Water softeners inspection, servicing and maintenance.
- General pipework alterations and plumbing remedial work.
- Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with client requirements, scope and specification.
- Ensure all work records and forms (manual and electronic system based) are complete and accurate.
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed and recorded and are complete and accurate.
- Ensure all arrangements for visits with clients are made in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide full support to Service Manager, as and when required.
- Delivery and completion of plumbing remedial work and technical water system repairs and installations.
- Carry out surveys to allow sales and account management team to issue accurate quoting and tenders.
- Providing technical assistance to the Technical Services department.
- Providing technical support to sales & account management team and clients.
- Attend Client meetings to support the Sales and account management team with technical questions.
- Site based delivery of projects work.
- Assist with the management of health & safety arrangements in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure compliance of all works within client requirements, scope and specification.
- Assist the Technical Services Department with organisation and management of staff, materials, sub-contractors and other resources to ensure maximum productivity at all times to achieve maximum profit potential in a safe working environment.
- Help ensure ongoing compliance with all operational aspects of company procedures and the quality management system.
- Assist with the training & technical development of the field-based operations staff.
- Assist with the creation and delivery of Health & Safety procedures (eg Tool Box Talks, RAMS, etc) to the field based operations staff.

- Effective communication with good interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the organization, and with 3rd parties.
- An ability to proactively identify problems and make decisions, taking appropriate action to a resolution.
- An ability to attain an accurate and consistent standard of service.
- An ability to work on own initiative and positively as a team member.
- Computer literacy, with the ability to effectively use the Microsoft Office package and bespoke software/databases.
- Good organisational and timekeeping skills, with ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude.
Essential qualifications/experience:
- A sound working knowledge of the HSE’s ACoP L8, HSG274 and you will hold at least Level 2 Technical Plumbing Certificate (or equivalent).
- An excellent understanding of both Unvented Hot Water Systems & Water Regulations and hold an appropriate certificate.
- At least two years’ experience of undertaking commercial plumbing work.
- At least five years’ experience of working as a plumber within the water hygiene industry.
- Must possess appropriate city and guilds NVQ level 2 and 3 plumbing qualifications.
- Excellent working knowledge of the water hygiene/legionella industry and legislation.
- A highly technical understanding of air & both water treatment and complex water systems and the required skills to complete works safely and to required standards.
- Knowledge in understanding delivering Health & Safety procedures (RAMS) for multi-skilled field/service staff in line with contractual obligations.
