Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel (the “Property”) is a newer facility in a high traffic area in the heart of Oak Grove, Kentucky, and across the street from a large Army post, Ft. Campbell. The Property is 10 miles from Clarksville, TN and less than 60 miles northwest of downtown Nashville, TN.
JOB SUMMARY
The Food Server is responsible for ensuring that all guests are provided with a memorable dining experience. Each team member ensures that the outlet is clean and organized and the restaurant is ready on time every day to ensure that every guest is well taken care of in a fine dining environment. They are to follow instructions from our events leadership to ensure each guest is taken care of during their event.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for taking orders from patrons and returning these orders in a timely manner.
- Keep area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Responsible to perform “responsible alcohol service” with regards to patron limitations and pass any/all responsible alcohol service training, if needed.
- Be able to carry serving trays full of dinner plates.
- Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high-pressure situations.
- Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Cleans and polishes tableware of spots, and pre-buses.
- Delivers and dispenses items ordered by guests, serves beverages, food and non-food items via tray service.
- Guest banking all dining room checks.
- Uses Point of Sale equipment to enter orders for kitchen personnel.
- Uses equipment such as coffee brewers, iced tea makers, juice, soda, and milk dispensers.
- Must bus tables in a timely manner to accommodate new business.
- It is a role model for the company and responds to questions positively.
- Must work with communication devices such as telephones and policy systems.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information.
- Demonstrated record of successful interpersonal skills in regard to working with diverse people and levels of authority.
- All internal and external guests must be treated in a manner to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Always strive to exceed our guests’ expectations.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Fine dining experience, preferably in a high-volume casino steakhouse is preferred.
- Knowledge of wines, alcohol and basic food knowledge is preferred.
- 6 months prior work experience is preferred.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
