The Bishop of Chelmsford, in consultation with the Dean and Chapter of Chelmsford Cathedral, seeks to appoint a Residentiary Canon for Learning and Nurture. This pivotal leadership role will shape the spiritual growth and educational outreach of the Cathedral, taking lead responsibility for learning programmes, school engagement, adult discipleship, and the development of children and family’s work.
As a member of Chapter and the Senior Leadership Team, the Canon will share responsibility for the Cathedral’s strategic leadership, governance, and safeguarding culture, contributing to vision, planning, and statutory oversight. The Canon will also take a full part in the liturgical, pastoral, and collegial life of the Cathedral, including residence, leadership in worship, pastoral care, and participation in the wider diocesan life.
We are looking for a collaborative leader who can nurture faith across generations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and organisational excellence.
