Are you passionate about making a difference in healthcare? We're looking for a dedicated part-time Health Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Church Street Partnership, a multi-site practice serving around 16,600 patients. As a Health Care Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care alongside a supportive nursing team. We are ideally seeking an experienced HCA; however, we are open to supporting training and development within treatment room services, including wound care and vaccinations. As part of the role we are looking for a reliable and organised site-to-site Courier to join our team, therefore, a driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Undertaking site-to-site courier duties, ensuring the safe and timely transport of items, equipment, stock, and vaccines between locations.
  • Supporting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Carrying out patient health checks and routine observations.
  • Providing treatment room services within scope of practice (such as wound care, ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, and vaccinations once trained).
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing specimens for transport.
  • Ensuring clinical rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and compliant with IPC standards.
  • Supporting minor procedures and chronic disease clinics.
  • Delivering health promotion and patient education where appropriate.

Person Specification:

  • Knowledge & Skills: Immunisation (flu, B12, childhood, travel), Treatment of small injuries, Dressings, Wound Care / Removal of sutures & staples, ECGs, New patient medicals including height, weight, BP, pulse, Chaperone procedure, Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
  • Qualifications: Healthcare qualification or equivalent level, Ear irrigation certification.
  • Experience: Driving Licence (& access to vehicle), 6 months relevant experience working in a primary care environment in the last 2 years, Experience of working with the general public, Experience of working in a healthcare setting, Experience of working in primary care.
