This is an exciting time to join Christ Church, Peckham as Worship Team Leader, following the launch of a new missional role designed to create a culture of 24-7 prayer and worship at Christ Church Peckham in alignment with the church’s vision. The role is funded for five years through a strategic project which is designed to not only enable church growth, but also address the environment that can lead young people into gangs and a life of crime.

We are looking for an experienced musician who can competently sing and play at least one relevant musical instrument, and who has the ability to plan and lead worship, including in impromptu settings. You will also have a deep understanding of Christian theology, particularly related to worship and prayer.

Some key responsibilities of the role would include:

  • Design, co-ordinate and lead all aspects of worship services and events where worship may take place.
  • Oversee the preparation of song lists, playlists, and worship content for Sunday services and mid-week meetings.
  • Coordinate worship rotas, rehearsals, and team meetings.
  • Recruit, lead, develop, and pastorally support worship team volunteers.
  • Work with the Operations Manager and Pastoral Lead to identify any continuous improvements within the team's structure and key processes.
  • Collaborate with the Creative and Production teams to create playlists and co-ordinate aspects of digital media.
