We seek an enthusiastic mission-minded priest with a pastoral heart and passion for ministry in parishes at the heart of the Fenlands. St Augustine, Wisbech, one of our 3 church congregations.
We seek a priest who will thrive serving as part of a Team where a culture of collaborative leadership is developing within the recently formed Saints Churches. You can anticipate an engaging, stimulating, and fulfilling ministry experience with us, alongside opportunities to serve in new and exciting ways.
Our churches are inclusive and believe we are called to be there for everyone, no matter who they are or where they have come from. We pray for someone who enjoys working collaboratively and pastorally across communities.
You will contribute towards sustaining existing church life, but in a creative and missional way. You will assist lay ministers to develop; support and grow existing work amongst children, young people, families and households; and create innovative community partnerships with a view to forming new worshipping communities. To do this you will be able to tailor God’s message to diverse audiences. A warm approachable manner is an absolute necessity.
We need an inspiring teacher who is humble in nature yet able to identify and grow people’s ministry. More than any of these things, we pray for someone who will laugh alongside us, share our tears, understand our fears, and advocate for Jesus in every action they do. Being perfectly imperfect is okay.
Working cooperatively across the three parishes is an important aspect of this role. You will do this in consultation with our Team Rector and other members of the Ministry Team. You will lead both inherited and Fresh Expression models of worship on Sunday and other days.
There is an expectation you will become involved in community events, be part of our growing schools ministry, and undertake weddings, baptisms, and funerals as necessary. This will be a diverse, fulfilling and evolving role.
If you are being called to explore this with us, please get in touch with Rev Paul Kite: 07414528194, revkite@btinternet.com or Ven Richard Harlow: 07415757527, archdeacon.handw@elydiocese.org.
Please note that applications must be submitted by email to archdeacon.handw@elydiocese.org. Closing Date: 12:00 p.m. on 11 May 2026. Interviews: 8 June 2026 (with alternative dates if unable to attend).
