St Chad Farndon and St Mary Coddington

We are seeking a part-time incumbent for this rural benefice of central church tradition near the cathedral city of Chester.

The post is for Sunday duties plus 2½ days per week in return for a 25% stipend.

There are strong links with local schools, and committed and supportive lay leadership.

An excellent parsonage is provided in Farndon.

We need a leader who will

  • Lead worship at St Chad's and St Mary's and encourage and develop lay involvement and our engagement and mission in the community.
  • Encourage the congregations to live out their Christian faith in daily life
  • Drive effective ministry in the local community including, most importantly, the village nursery and the two primary schools in the benefice, one of which is a Cof E school.

The PCCs consider the ministry to children and their families as being a major priority.

  • Develop regular events to build fellowship with the many young families living in these rapidly growing villages.
  • Develop a variety of worship styles and create services that connect across ages and backgrounds including those new to church life.
  • Preach and teach in ways that are engaging, relevant and accessible
  • To continue and expand the strong safeguarding culture in the parishes.
