About the role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist other trades by carrying out labouring tasks
- Supporting the set-up and breakdown of Cathedral events
- Undertaking minor electrical and plumbing repairs
- Carrying out external maintenance across Cathedral grounds
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Escorting contractors and external production teams
- Inputting data into the CAFM system
- Assisting with lifting and moving equipment and materials
- Maintaining tools and equipment where appropriate
This role will suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is comfortable working in a unique and historic environment.
About You
- Flexible, dependable and willing to support a variety of operational activities
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Able to undertake physical duties, including lifting and working at heights
- Confident climbing staircases, including access routes to the Cathedral galleries
- Willing to undertake training, including health and safety training
- Friendly and professional when interacting with colleagues, contractors and visitors
- Proactive and able to use your initiative
Previous maintenance or labouring experience would be beneficial, though a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
