Introduction

As part of the Newcastle diocesan-wide reorientation \”Seeking, Sharing, Sending,\” we are engaged in discernment about the places and people where we notice God\’s work. A key part of this is to support a Community Missioner role on a part-time basis for a lay or ordained person. This role will amplify existing discernment efforts in two parishes, working with clergy and laity as they seek to turn outward in mission. We also hope that the role can contribute to the development of learning communities focused on Community Mission, supported by members of the Mission and Ministry Team across Newcastle Diocese and national initiatives such as The Centre for Theology and Community.
