The Diocese of Chester is seeking to recruit a Bishop’s Adviser for Chaplains & Sector Ministers. The focus of this voluntary role is advocacy for chaplaincy generally, alongside support for those in chaplaincy roles, particularly those who are employed, licensed or lead chaplains.
The role works collaboratively within the Ministry Team under the strategic oversight of the Directors of Ministry and Ministry Committee, contributing to formation, wellbeing, and spiritual flourishing across the diocese. This is a voluntary, unpaid role, with reasonable working expenses paid. A flexible, variable time commitment is anticipated across the year.
Requirements:- The successful candidate will be an ordained or licensed Church of England minister with direct experience of chaplaincy.
- They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be committed to collaborative ministry, with a proven ability to work well within a newly reorganised and highly motivated team.
- An Enhanced DBS Disclosure will be required for the successful candidate.
- An Occupational Requirement exists for the postholder to be a practising Christian, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
