Truro Cathedral is seeking an inspiring and collaborative priest to join the Chapter as Canon for Worship & Welcome.
This is a key role within the cathedral's senior leadership team, combining responsibility for the cathedral's worship and liturgical life with a commitment to ensuring that all who enter encounter a place ofwarmth, hospitality and belonging.
Serving as the cathedral's Precentor, you will oversee the planning and delivery of worship, lead and preach regularly, and help shape the spiritual life of a diverse and vibrant cathedral community. You will also play a full part in the leadership, management and governance of the cathedral, contributing to the strategic development of its mission and ministry.
We are looking for someone who is nourished by the rhythms of cathedral worship and prayer, and who is passionate about engaging those who may have little or no connection with the Church. You will be a creative and confident leader, able to work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and congregations, and willing to embrace both the opportunities and challenges of ministry in a busy contemporary cathedral.
Applications are welcomed from candidates at all stages of ordained ministry. We would particularly welcome applications from those who see this role as an opportunity to develop and exercise their gifts in a cathedral setting, drawn by its missional and ministerial possibilities. We are especially keen to hear from women and people of Global Majority Heritage, who are currently underrepresented in senior leadership within the Diocese.
Closing date: 5pm, Friday 23rd October 2026
