Lecturer/Assistant Priest of Boston

Lecturer/Assistant Priest of Boston

Boston Full-Time On-site
C

Are you a priest with a passion for worship, discipleship, pastoral care and community engagement? Do you long to serve in a thriving town-centre parish that combines rich Anglican tradition with innovative mission and outreach?

Boston is a town of contrasts and possibilities. Proud of its heritage yet looking towards the future, it is home to people from many different cultures, backgrounds and traditions. The parish seeks to be at the centre of this community, offering a Christian presence that is visible, welcoming and outward-looking. We are therefore looking for a priest who enjoys engaging with people, building relationships and helping others discover where God is already at work in their lives.

As Lecturer/Assistant Priest, you will share in the full breadth of parish ministry. You will preach and teach, lead worship, nurture discipleship, support pastoral care, and help develop the mission and outreach of the parish. You will work alongside the Rector, a dedicated ministry team, committed lay leaders and a large volunteer community, all of whom are passionate about the future flourishing of the Church in Boston.

This is a parish where worship is central to our identity. We value the richness of the Anglican tradition, the beauty of choral worship, and the importance of prayer grounded in daily discipleship. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring that the Gospel speaks meaningfully to people of all ages and backgrounds, whether they are lifelong church members, occasional visitors, or exploring faith for the first time.

We would particularly welcome applications from priests who:

  • Have a deep personal faith and a commitment to prayerful ministry.
  • Enjoy preaching and teaching in ways that inspire and encourage discipleship.
  • Are energised by parish life and pastoral engagement.
  • Have a heart for mission and a desire to see churches grow spiritually and numerically.
  • Can build relationships across diverse communities and generations.
  • Enjoy collaborative ministry and are able to encourage and develop the gifts of others.
  • Are excited by opportunities to engage with schools, young people, families and the wider community.
  • Will bring warmth, humility, creativity and hope to the life of the parish.

In return, you will find a welcoming and supportive parish community, experienced colleagues in ministry, a significant and rewarding sphere of service, and encouragement in your continuing ministerial development. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the life of one of England's most recognisable parish churches whilst also helping to shape the next chapter of mission and ministry across the wider parish.

If you are looking for a role where heritage and mission meet, where community engagement sits alongside faithful worship, and where there is genuine scope to help people grow in faith and discipleship, we would be delighted to hear from you.
