The Bishop of Newcastle wishes to appoint a full time priest to be Rector of the Parish of Alston Moor. Might God be calling you to serve in this spectacular part of God’s creation? This parish lies in a simply stunning part of the Northeast, amid hills and valleys, whilst also being well-connected by good roads to the cities of Newcastle and Carlisle, and the historic market towns of Hexham and Penrith.

The six churches each have their unique identity including some fascinating heritage as well as vision for the future. The town of Alston is the largest settlement in the parish and offers plentiful amenities.

We seek a priest who has well-developed leadership abilities, together with strong collaborative skills, to help develop vocation, discipleship and mission as we seek to enable more and different people to experience the love of God. Our new priest will have a robust vision for rural and deep rural ministry. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with a love of rural community who is looking to extend and develop their leadership in a context that is both challenging and exciting.
