Based in the City of London, on-site 3-4 days per week. Market rates apply. We are working with our well-known banking client in the City and have the need for an experienced SQL Server DBA to assist in aligning security postures of the database estates to the internal group framework. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced contract SQL Server DBA for a 5‑month project focused on implementing CIS security standards. The successful candidate will work alongside another DBA on this initiative, ensuring security and compliance standards are met, while minimizing disruption to business operations. This role requires a strong understanding of database security best practices and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as collaborate effectively with various teams across the business.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA, with in-depth knowledge of SQL Server 2019 and 2022.
  • Good knowledge of SQL Server security configuration.
  • Strong understanding of database security principles, access controls, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage project tasks, and prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting SQL Server databases.
