We are seeking a committed and experienced Finance Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in various accounting software., * Manage the UK charities day-to-day accounting function, assisting the Bursar of the Charity, in providing financial leadership to the Charity and clear structure and direction. Primary responsibilities include preparation and analysis of the financial reports and reconciliations, internal and external reporting, budgeting/forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control.

  • Preparation of annual accounts for audit.

  • Advise the Trustees on existing and evolving operating/financial issues. Produce accurate and timely financial reports. Provides meaning or context to the financial results.

  • Processing monthly payroll including employee bank payments, PAYE/N.I., Pension scheme.

  • Conduct data entry for financial transactions and ensure accuracy in all records.

  • Utilise accounting software, QuickBooks, Payroll and Excel

  • Oversees internal, external and regulatory audit processes and ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring charity policies are administered fairly and consistently.

  • Recording investment income and movement of funds. (Investments are managed by an independent management company.)

  • Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Payroll and Excel.

  • Charity Administration.

  • Excellent data skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all financial records.

  • Ability to analyse financial data and provide practical insights.

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, establish and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates .
