We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our GMG Finance team and take full ownership of delivering accurate, timely financial accounts for our global export business. Our GMG division is one of our fastest growing areas of the business, focusing on expanding our business through export. This role is based at our Corporate Office, Premier House, on Shearway Business Park in Folkestone, Kent. The position is also eligible for hybrid working, with up to 3 days per week working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile monthly intercompany recharges and balances.
- Ensure accurate invoice postings, raising journals and accruals as required.
- Review departmental cost centres and investigate variances.
- Reconcile balance sheet control accounts and update as needed.
- Verify accuracy of P&L lines across SAP reports.
- Manage monthly revenue recognition processes.
- Gather VAT data for UK, France and Netherlands submissions.
- Complete month-end assessment cycles in SAP and confirm actuals in Oracle.
- Prepare and analyse quarterly inventory provisions and support US reporting.
- Provide cost forecast (PPR) information when required.
- Support year-end audit, SOX processes, and annual balance sheet reviews.
- Provide annual budget values for key cost areas.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and SAP Superuser support.
- Assist with Finance and IT continuous improvement projects.
Education & Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA).
- Degree in Accountancy, Economics or a related field is advantageous.
- Experience in corporate or manufacturing environments.
- SAP and Oracle proficiency desirable.
- Knowledge of US GAAP beneficial.
- Strong analytical ability, communication skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines.
