The Bakery Assistant will assist in preparing and producing the Chummys Bakery product range each day, ensuring a consistent standard of quality in regards to baking, decoration, and packing whilst working efficiently to meet production targets.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in the baking and preparation of cakes, brownies, cookies, and other items.
- Assist in the decorating and finishing of cakes, brownies, cookies, and other items.
- Assist in ensuring daily production targets are hit.
- Assist in the generation of shipping labels, writing of gift messages, and any other such admin reasonably required by the Company.
- Responsible for keeping, cleaning, and maintaining your baking area to excellent condition.
- Responsible for keeping, cleaning, and maintaining your baking tools, machinery, and utensils.
- Assist in maintaining a good quality of cleanliness in the overall kitchen environment on a daily basis.
- Assist in the preparation and storing of ingredients.
- Assist in the daily and weekly deep clean of the kitchen environment and updating the daily log.
- Assist in responding to customer enquiries through multiple channels whilst providing excellent customer service.
- Assist in the daily quality control of products and report any issues to their line manager.
- Assist in the proactive recording of wastage on a daily basis.
- Assist in the development of new product ranges.
- Responsible for keeping their Food Hygiene training up to date and maintaining a minimum Food Safety Level 2, Food Safety Level 3, and HACCP.
- To undertake any other reasonable duty as required by the Company.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will ideally have one of the following:
- Relevant experience within a bakery environment;
- Professional certificates or training in baking;
- Relevant experience within a home baking environment.
Part-time hours: 5 - 35 per week.
