Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- To create and cook inspiring food for 35 children from 0-5 years old as well as staff
- Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment adhering to internal and external requirements.
- Encourage and model behaviour which is appropriate in a child environment being professional at all times.
- Continually develop and create fun nutritional snacks and meals for children
- To make sure you meet the legal and company requirements for fire, safety, health & hygiene at all items and necessary paperwork is completed.
- Invested in reducing food wastage
- Take responsibility to make sure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to the teams.
- Support, promote and implement policies and procedures.
- Work in cooperation with the Nursery team and parents to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet.
- Ensure that budgetary requirements are met, use nominated suppliers and ensure all deliveries are accurate and paperwork is kept up to date.
- Support with other activities with the nursery e.g. children’s cookery clubs.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are in compliance with Environmental Health & Ofsted guidelines and that all relevant records are kept in line with Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Standards
Qualification/Experience
- Experience in any role which involves cooking in domestic or commercial property (Essential)
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above or equivalent (Essential)
- Knowledge of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
- Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirement around food allergies (Essential)
- 12hrs Paediatric First Aid Certificate (Essential)
