About Chubby Bear

Chubby Bear is an exciting, start-up with a small but highly driven team. We specialise in creating tailored direct-to-consumer campaigns designed around each brand’s individual identity. Our mission is to help brands enter and grow within the DTC space while minimising risk and maximising results. From smaller test campaigns through to large-scale national operations, we build, refine and adapt campaigns based on performance. With a growing team of sales agents across the UK, we focus on driving measurable customer acquisition and building passionate, informed customer bases for the brands we represent.

The Role

We’re looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Event Booker to join our growing events team. Working closely with our Head of Events, you’ll help strategically build our annual event calendar with one clear goal: maximise sales performance. You’ll be responsible for researching, sourcing and booking events across the UK, building strong relationships with event organisers and identifying new opportunities for the business. This isn’t simply an admin or diary-management role. You’ll have genuine ownership over the events you bring into the calendar and will be measured against a small number of commercial KPIs, including the sales performance generated by the events you help secure. The role will involve plenty of emails, applications, research, data management, relationship building and cold calling. You need to be someone who is confident picking up the phone, comfortable handling rejection and able to navigate difficult conversations without losing momentum.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Researching and sourcing new event opportunities across the UK
  • Working collaboratively with the Head of Events to strategically build the annual event calendar
  • Cold calling event organisers and proactively creating new opportunities
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with organisers and venues
  • Completing event applications and managing bookings from enquiry through to confirmation
  • Tracking event data, historic performance and commercial KPIs
  • Taking greater ownership over the final sales performance generated from the events you book
  • Managing event budgets and ensuring opportunities make commercial sense
  • Solving problems quickly when things don’t go to plan
  • Using performance data to improve future event selection
  • Continuously identifying new shows, locations and opportunities that could help grow the business

Who We’re Looking For

This role would suit someone with experience in sales, events, business development, account management or a similar commercially focused role. More importantly, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude. You’ll need to be:

  • Sales hungry and commercially driven
  • Confident, personable and full of energy
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable cold calling and building relationships from scratch
  • Resilient and able to handle rejection
  • An excellent communicator with strong people skills
  • Naturally curious and willing to search for new opportunities
  • A creative thinker who can adapt quickly
  • A natural problem solver
  • Comfortable managing large amounts of information and data
  • Confident using Google Sheets
  • Able to manage your own workload and priorities
  • Motivated by targets and performance
  • Comfortable taking real ownership and responsibility

Accuracy is extremely important in this role. You’ll often be managing multiple conversations, applications, deadlines and opportunities simultaneously, so excellent time management, self-management and data management are essential.

What You’ll Get

  • £30,000 basic salary
  • OTE £40,000–£50,000 through performance-related earning potential
  • 3% employer pension contribution
  • Work phone provided
  • Wellbeing benefits package
  • Company socials
  • Hybrid working and work-from-home flexibility
  • Discounted Bella
