Chubb Tempest Reinsurance Ltd. invites applications for the position of Actuarial Analyst. This is an exciting and challenging position for an individual interested in pursuing an actuarial career that will provide exposure to a diverse mix of insurance and reinsurance products and all functional aspects of the actuarial profession.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Collecting and refining data and information for actuarial analysis including pricing and reserving
  • Preparing regular and ad-hoc reports on price adequacy
  • Assisting in pricing internal reinsurance for all lines of business
  • Assisting with updating pricing models for various lines of business
  • Performing quarterly and annual reserving for insurance and reinsurance business
  • Liaising with Finance on all financial reporting
  • Assisting with the annual planning process
  • Preparing actuarial elements of statutory filings including capital calculations
  • Enhancing processes with new automation
  • Other ad-hoc pricing and reserving projects within the actuarial team that may arise

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited university in math, actuarial science, or related field
  • Commitment to obtaining an actuarial designation with a preference for candidates who have already passed one or more actuarial exams
  • Interest in programming languages, i.e. Python, R, SQL, Excel VBA etc.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on his or her own initiative and in a team environment
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work extended hours and weekends when required
