We are searching for a Senior Aerospace Underwriter to form a key part of this team. In this role, you will help drive the growth of our aerospace portfolio with key brokers and clients, while maintaining and developing a portfolio of existing accounts. Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite and approve complex new business and renewals in line with Chubb’s underwriting guidelines, budget, and strategic business plan.
- Lead the development, management, and growth of a robust portfolio of aerospace accounts, including high‑value and complex risks.
- Serve as a senior ambassador for Chubb, representing the company to brokers, clients, and industry bodies, and promoting Chubb’s expertise and market leadership.
- Collaborate with senior colleagues to shape underwriting strategy, set forecasts, and drive portfolio management to achieve and exceed profitability targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and brokers, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Maintain high‑level communication with internal teams and external partners, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and shared success.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and Chubb’s risk management standards.
- Mentor and support the development of junior underwriters, sharing expertise and best practices.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of aviation (underwriting/broking) or relevant market experience, with a proven track record in handling complex risks.
- Deep understanding of the insurance market, with established relationships with brokers and clients.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to make decisions independently and guide others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and negotiate at senior levels.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills, with experience in portfolio analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with underwriting tools and systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a collaborative environment.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality service to clients and colleagues.
- ACII qualification (or equivalent) preferred and/or commitment to ongoing professional development.
