Senior Package Underwriter
Are you interested in working for one of the world’s largest property & casualty insurers with excellent employee benefits and offices in 54 countries? If you are passionate about client service, motivated and inquisitive, and looking for a new challenge in the insurance industry, Chubb is looking for an experienced Package Underwriter/Senior Underwriter to join our Underwriting Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
- Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Service key producers and clients through an engaged programme of proactive external visitation, monitoring business acquisition and retention, and maximizing cross‑selling opportunities.
- Assist in formulating and implementing underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability.
- Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility.
- Assist with development of products within specialist areas to improve client retention and new business, collaborating with peers within and across business lines in Europe and globally.
- Meet company standards for policy documentation, quotation timeframes and compliance issues.
- Manage junior colleagues, providing mentoring, training and coaching to maintain a high‑quality underwriting team.
- Allocate resources to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
- Considerable market experience.
- ACII preferred.
- Continuously develop technical and broader business skills.
- Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of corporate underwriting, the insurance market and competitors.
- Solid experience dealing with brokers and clients.
- Results‑driven with the ability to make independent decisions and work on own initiative.
- Recognized as an experienced professional externally.
- Experience of leadership, training, mentoring and people development preferred but not essential.
