This is a fantastic opportunity to join the well-respected UK & International PI team based in London, which forms a major part of the Financial Lines division within Chubb Global Markets. This long established and mature portfolio has seen significant growth in recent times, and we are seeking a motivated and proactive candidate to play a key role in supporting our continued success.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of the role will be to underwrite professional indemnity risks across Construction, Miscellaneous and Traditional Professions, both existing and new business. The successful candidate will gain exposure to our highly experienced claims team, our distribution team and other underwriting teams, within the Financial Lines portfolio and beyond, in order to provide excellent service to our brokers and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Goals - Underwrite new business and renewals (open market and schemes/facilities) in accordance with the business plan and within the assigned underwriting authority.
- Portfolio Integrity - Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management in order to maintain underwriting profitability.
- Producer Management - Represent and promote Chubb corporately via maintaining relationship with customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues to achieve business objectives.
- Team Player – Proactively contribute and participate in meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice.
- Procedures - Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues.
- Operational Management – Work closely with Underwriting and Operations to drive improved operational efficiencies.
- Brand Ambassador - Building and maintaining a strong external reputation. Behaving in a manner consistent with Chubb’s core values and culture both internally and externally.
Qualifications
- Understanding of class specific underwriting and insurance knowledge.
- CII qualifications or working towards qualification. Continues to develop technical and broader business skills.
- Demonstrate ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset but with ability to proactively work on own initiative.
- Driven, with high-energy, commitment, passion and ambition.
