We have a new role available for a Small Commercial Development Underwriter. This role will work within our DCI team (Digital Commercial Insurance) helping to shape digital transformation in commercial insurance. The role can be based from any of our UK office locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with brokers across the UK to identify and digitise books of business, bringing innovative solutions to the market.
- Travel nationwide to build relationships, finalise deals, and help brokers transition their business onto Chubb’s digital platforms.
- Be the ‘boots on the ground’—understanding broker and customer challenges, and translating them into opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Support product and process development, collaborating with colleagues to deliver outstanding solutions for our clients.
- Underwrite cross-class small commercial business, driving growth and profitability.
- Assess portfolio performance and contribute to Chubb’s strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Previous experience in Property and Casualty underwriting.
- Ability to manage the needs of a broad range of stakeholders.
- Adaptability—comfortable juggling multiple priorities and handling unexpected challenges.
- Strong customer orientation, blending client needs with business profitability.
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
- Experience in digital or portfolio underwriting environments is a plus.
- Understanding of product development and the ability to turn insights into actionable improvements.
