Chubb Tempest Re is the third-party reinsurance arm of the Chubb Limited Group, with operations in London, Hamilton (Bermuda) and Stamford. The Short tail reinsurance division is seeking an experienced, technically skilled and motivated individual to enhance their team. The role involves maintaining and growing the property, marine and energy portfolios through broker and client engagement. The candidate will also provide coaching and mentoring to assist in the development of junior team members, and must be able to strategize, communicate effectively, manage time well, and operate within a dynamic team environment. This role reports directly to the Head of Short Tail.
Responsibilities:
- Underwriting and processing of new and renewal business as well as servicing current partnerships.
- Communicate clearly with various internal and external stakeholders, including brokers and internal auxiliary functions.
- Analyse cedant submissions, run rating models (experience and exposure analysis) and underwrite the risk.
- Ideally, have experience of risk XL and pro rata business.
- Responsible for periodic reporting, such as production updates, exposure summaries, and rate movements.
- Manage aggregation and catastrophe modelling.
- Adhere to all financial, legal, regulatory and compliance guidelines as it relates to the role.
- Willingness and ability to travel for client interactions and conferences.
- Provide advice, guidance and training to junior team members.
- Forthcoming ad hoc duties allocated by the Head of Short Tail.
Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge and experience of Property, Marine, Energy and/or Specialty underwriting/broking reinsurance.
- Minimum A-Level, but preferably Degree standard (or equivalent).
- Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- ACII qualified and/or working towards the accreditation.
