Background:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Chubb’s Life Science & Health Tech Industry Practice in the UK & Ireland. The practice focuses on customer needs, delivering tailored multi-line products and services through dedicated underwriters.
Role Purpose:
The role involves managing and leading the UK & Ireland Life Science and Health Tech Industry Practice team, overseeing portfolios in casualty, property, and cyber lines for Life Science and Health Tech companies, and driving strategy to maintain market leadership.
The candidate should have strong underwriting expertise in Life Science Casualty, Property, and Cyber insurance, a broad industry understanding, and the ability to hold high levels of underwriting authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as main referral point for UKI Life Science & Health Tech underwriters
- Deliver and exceed financial targets
- Shape and execute strategic plans
- Manage portfolio quality and conduct regular reviews
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Lead and develop the team, fostering talent and managing change
- Engage with brokers and markets to drive retention and growth
- Develop new products and market opportunities
- Manage operational resources and monitor performance
- Build relationships with key brokers and clients
Qualifications:
- Extensive underwriting experience in Life Science Casualty and Property
- Knowledge of the Life Science and Health Tech sector and competitors
- Strong leadership and presentation skills
- Results-oriented with strategic development experience
