We’re currently recruiting an Underwriter to form a key part of our leading London market wholesale enterprise; Chubb Global Markets. You would be a key member of our Fine Art and Specie team handling a diverse product mix through varied distribution methods in both a face-to-face and online trading environment.
The successful candidate will have the knowledge and discipline required for day-to-day servicing of new and renewal underwriting and an agile mind and appetite for engaging in bespoke solutions for our brokers’ clients. The role comes with responsibility for growth of the portfolio, management of key broker relationships and the supervision and training of assistant underwriters.
It is essential you are an open-minded team player and you will be supported by skilled, experienced and motivated team members.
Key Responsibilities :
- The efficient and compliant quoting of new business and renewal in all 4 main subclasses.
- Financial Goals. To underwrite according to defined guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
- To assist in the management of our lead and follow positions on broker facilities by participating in renewal reviews and relationship meetings
- Product Development. To assist in the development of new coverages and clauses to support client retention and new business production. This may involve collaborating with peers within and across Chubb business lines and disciplines both CGM and globally.
- Producer Management. To represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal and external clients. This may involve servicing key producers and clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention as well as maximising cross-selling opportunities
- Procedures. To meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, catastrophe aggregate management and compliance.
- Representative. To represent and promote Chubb and maintain effective contact with internal colleagues and clients, surveyors and loss adjustors.
- To travel as necessary in the promotion of and furtherance of business goals.
- An existing strong market profile in Underwriting or Broking Fine Art and or Specie lines.
- Strong London market underwriting experience in lead or follow capacity
- Service driven with proven experience of taking care of brokers/clients
- Ability to quote new and renewal business in some or all four sub-classes.
- Technical strength in Wording construction in the Fine Art and Specie subclasses
- DUA and Multinational programme experience preferred
- A professional who is keen to build out their profile externally.
- ACII preferred but not essential.
