Are you a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) with relevant post‑qualified experience, available for interim work? We have an interim opportunity (12 months) available for a financial Accountant to join our Global Finance team in Glasgow. Our ideal candidate will have an accounting background and familiarity with double entry and journal processing. Insurance or Financial Services experience would be ideal; however we will also consider candidates with experience gained in a large multinational company from other sectors. We operate a hybrid working model between home and office working and are open to discuss flexible working options. The role sits in a team of five Financial Accountants and reports into our Financial Accounting Manager based in Glasgow. Experience of preparing financial statements (IFRS, UK GAAP) is required as the role will involve preparing statutory accounts for entities with varying complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- The role is responsible for approving entries for the business and creating potentially complex entries from business requests.
- Assist the month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑close processes and perform the process as required.
- Assist the provision of appropriate reporting to management and work closely with the Financial Planning knowledge of technical and general accounting such as payroll, fixed assets, accruals and reserving.
- Experience of coordinating technical processes within tight timescales.
- Able to adapt communication style to liaise with employees at all levels within the organisation.
- Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP is desirable.
- Experience of US GAAP reporting in a multi‑national environment is desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and an ability to identify tasks for completion and take ownership for them.
