Job Overview
As a key member of Chubb\’s A&H Major Risks Team, you will be responsible for underwriting and servicing personal accident and travel policies for large multinational clients, managing portfolios, and driving growth through strong broker and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
- Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal and external clients, servicing key producers and clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention, and maximising cross‑selling opportunities.
- Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management to achieve underwriting profitability; conduct quantitative underwriting reviews and peer reviews for quality control.
- Prioritise and develop products within areas of specialist expertise to improve client retention and new business, collaborating with peers across business lines in Europe and globally.
- Represent and promote Chubb and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues and major clients.
Account Management
- Partner/Client Management: P&L management of existing and newly acquired clients ensuring profitability, pricing adequacy, and appropriate terms and conditions apply.
- Compliance & Regulation: Ensure product integrity and compliance with all internal and external regulatory principles and guidelines, including FCA and Treating Customers Fairly; manage contract and agreement signing, accuracy and currency.
- Set and achieve challenging business plans for the retention, development, growth and increasing profitability of a designated panel of key partners/clients and new partners.
Projects, Data Initiatives, Product Development & Revenue Maximisation
- Support regional and home office project initiatives.
- Support A&H product development and implementation.
- Collaborate with global and regional digital underwriting and analytic teams to accelerate and optimise digital distributions.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience Required
- Considerable underwriting and market experience, preferably within a global organisation.
- Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the insurance market and competitors.
- Solid experience dealing with brokers and clients.
- Results‑driven with the ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical skills, data management and database knowledge.
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word capabilities.
- Able to work within a team environment and provide quality service to clients and internal partners.
- ACII preferred (though not essential).
- A Levels or higher.
