Role Purpose

You will support the open market underwriting teams in NUC Manchester by delivering a high-quality client service, with the authority to make simple amendments to risks as specified in the underwriting guidelines and under the close supervision of an underwriter.

Key responsibilities

  • You will work in conjunction with the team to ensure efficient working practices are in place.
  • Support the underwriting teams through liaison with and participation at meetings with brokers, internal departments and external advisers.
  • Provide general assistance to underwriters for running & monitoring reports, broker access, mid-term transactions, account bookings, policy issuance, maintaining pipelines etc.
  • You will work towards obtaining your underwriting authority in order to underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
  • Work within the framework of Chubb ethical and service standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of an insurance operation preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum GCSE, but preferably A level standard (or equivalent).
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Practical and common-sense approach to dealing with differing situations and an ability to seek problems often against tight timeframes.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Highly organized.
